Sealed Portion of the Book of Mormon

We are not talking about the the vision of all that was given to the brother of Jared "there never were greater things made manifest than those which were made manifest unto the brother of Jared."(Ether 4:4). That record will only be opened by Christ (Ether 4:7) after the Gentiles repent (Ether 4:6).

This same chapter of Ether mentions that "then shall my revelations which I have caused to be written by my servant John be unfolded in the eyes of all the people." And we see these things we "shall know that the time is at hand that they shall be made manifest in very deed." (Ether 4:16) Now we notice what happens next:

"Therefore, when ye shall receive this record ye may know that the work of the Father has commenced upon all the face of the land. Therefore, repent all ye ends of the earth, and come unto me, and believe in my gospel, and be baptized in my name; for he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned; and signs shall follow them that believe in my name." (Ether 4:17-18)

This describes a time before the revelations to the brother of Jared are released. A time of repentance and preparation.

The golden plates of the Book of Mormon had two sealed portions, and the Book of Mormon describes how there will be witnesses to both the original set translated by Joseph Smith and the later set from part of the sealed portion.

Sealed Gold Plates Mauricio Berger, in Brazil, was directed by an angel in 2007 to climb a mountain where he met the angel Moroni. Mauricio returned to that mountain each year for 10 years and brought 3 other witnesses who also met Moroni. In 2017, he was given the golden plates. Witnesses were called from the United States and they were all present when 42 plates of the sealed portion were unsealed. Using two stones that he was also given, Mauricio translated 19 of the plates. When we have learned to live by what has been revealed here, the rest of the 42 plates will be translated.
